Which carrier or product code do I send?
No carrier product code is accepted by POST /assignment/single. The public request selects serviceLevel and distributionChannel. PacSort Online uses optimised routing with your account configuration, destination and package data. Adding productCode or carrier to the request does not select that product.
| Field | Accepted values | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
serviceLevel | economy, priority | Requested service level. Required. |
distributionChannel | package, parcel | Distribution channel; defaults to package. parcel requires pickupSettings. |
item.recipient.countryCode | Destination country code, for example SE or FI | Destination input, not a guarantee of carrier or lane availability. |
| Carrier / product / delivery point | No request selector | No direct carrier product code, home-delivery selector or service-point ID is exposed in this create schema. |
Common delivery questions
| Use case | What to send or confirm |
|---|---|
| Domestic delivery in Sweden | Set destination SE, actual package measurements and the agreed service level/channel. Confirm enabled domestic services with your contact. |
| SE → FI, “First Class” | Set destination FI. priority is the API's priority option, but it is not a guarantee of a carrier product named “First Class”. Agree the required product and routing before booking. |
| Other Nordic / international lanes | Set the actual destination country. Confirm origin, enabled services and any additional shipping requirements; there is no universal international product code to copy. |
| Service point vs home delivery | Do not equate package / parcel with a service-point / home-delivery choice. If a specific delivery method or collection point is mandatory, confirm a supported integration path with your contact. |
The selected carrier is returned in item.carrierHandle when available. Direct carrier APIs have their own product codes and credentials; those contracts do not apply to this endpoint.
